The Dallas Chapter of the American Institute of Architects presented its 42nd annual AIA Dallas Design Awards on Wednesday evening 23rd September 2009 at Victory Plaza. Of the 138 entries this year 7 awards were given for built projects. The projects were selected by a distinguished jury of three architects. Adrian Smith of SOM Chicago, Bryan Young of Allied Works (Portland) and Angela Brooks of Pugh+Scarpa Architects, Los Angeles.

Five contemporary townhomes situated on the Katy Trail. Designed by FAIA award-winning architect Ron Wommack. Units D & E access a rooftop deck with panoramic views of Turtle Creek and downtown Dallas.
The three Katy Trail facing residences have three bedrooms, 2.5 baths and a study. These homes feature polished concrete floors on the first level and rift-cut white oak floors on the second and third levels. All residences offer Italian made Pedini kitchen cabinets. Ceilings are ten feet on each level.
The two free-standing homes have a spectacular 39' x 20' main living area. Each of these designs has three bedrooms and 3.5 baths. A pathway has been dedicated to the Katy Trail for access from Buena Vista.
4143 Buena Vista is unique in that it is the first modernist development along the trail designed to take advantage of its Katy Trail proximity.
